No charge for public transport in Riga on 1 September

Riga Municipality invites residents to use public transport for free on the Day of Knowledge, 1 September, said Lelde Rudzika, a representative of the municipality.

E-tickets or code tickets will not be required on 1 September on Riga's buses, trolleybuses and trams.

Riga Mayor Vilnis Ķirsis (JV) points out that the transition from summer to the new school year is always associated with more activity, which leads to more traffic and inevitably more congestion.

Cherry invites everyone to take the opportunity to travel for free on public transport on the first day of the new school year by leaving their car at home.

Riga City Council urges drivers to be especially careful and considerate to children who have returned to the city after the summer holidays and may have forgotten to be careful on the streets.
