The best indicator of living conditions in Lithuania in 2021 was in Vilnius, Kaunas and Kaunas district. Over the last 10 years, this indicator has increased in almost all municipalities, but the biggest increase was in rural areas, the Ministry of Finance said.
The biggest progress in 2021, compared to 2013, was observed
in Šalčininka (55th place), Kalvarii (58), Radviliškis (56) municipalities, as
well as in Prenai (20th place) and Širvintos (14th), the website
lietuvosfinansai.lt reported.
According to the overall index of material living
conditions, the best situation was in Vilnius, followed by Kaunas district and
Kaunas, Vilnius district and Klaipeda district.
The lowest position in the ranking was occupied by Lazda
district, Zarasai district, Kalvari district, Vilkaviškis district and
Radviliškis district.
The index itself increased by 138% from 2013 to 2021 - its
growth was recorded in all municipalities, but most of all in rural
municipalities (147.5%), resorts (133.5%), other municipalities (132.3%) and
large cities (106%).
If we evaluate individual municipalities, the biggest
progress was observed in Šalčininka (236.5 per cent), Kalvari (224 per cent),
Radviliškis (221 per cent), Prenai (215.5 per cent) and Širvinta districts
(209.5 per cent).
The lowest growth was in Visaginas (49%), Kazlu Ruda (62%),
Klaipėda (87%), Kėdainiai (94%) and Utena district (97%).
