A new scenically varied and informative cycling route The Little Ring of Middle Selija is opened in Latvia this summer. It is about 55 kilometres long and leads from Ilūkste through Dviete, Bebrene, Eglaine, Šēderi and Pilskalni, then back to Ilūkste, informs "TAKA", the municipal authority of the Augšdaugava Region.

The Vidussēlija Small Circle, marked with the number sign 791, is an educational route, which includes the flora, fauna and geological values of the nature park Dviete Floodplain and the nature reserve Pilskalnes Siguldiņa.

While enjoying this route, you will have the opportunity to hear the stories of the history of Dviete, Bebrene, Eglaine, Šēderes and Pilskalne parishes, as well as enjoy the romance of the small town of Ilūkste. There are several guest houses, manor houses, museums and private collections along the route. You can enjoy wonderful views of nature on this cycle route.

The 18-kilometre stretch from Šēderes to Dviete is asphalted and the rest is gravel. The four-kilometre stretch on the P72 is moderate, the rest of the route is low. The quality of the gravel surface can vary depending on weather conditions and the intensity of road maintenance.

The route is scenically, visually and informatively very varied. The route offers a wide variety of cultural and historical features, as well as an opportunity to get to know the flora and fauna of the surrounding countryside, the cultural and historical heritage, the most popular tourist attractions and the daily life of the local population.
