Filming has started for the new season of the detective series Uninvited Guests. Like the previous season, the new season is produced by Tet in collaboration with scriptwriter and director Vlad Kovalov, film producer Lelde Kovalov and chief cinematographer Tomas Zarāns. This time, Uninvited Guests will be a collaboration between Latvian, Ukrainian and Lithuanian film professionals, which will reveal many shocking and unexpected twists.
According to the producer, the plot of the second season of the crime drama will be significantly different from the first. "This will probably be the first domestic multi-series film to use artificial intelligence to make the actors 30 years younger for scenes from the characters' youth. We will also use a lot of special effects make-up in the making of the detective film, as the audience will be shocked by several murders in the course of one season," says Lelde Kovaleva.
"I am happy to see that the development and quality of domestic cinema is growing every year," says Inga Alika-Stroda, Director of Tet TV and Entertainment Services. "As usual, we are ready to offer our viewers diverse and high-quality content, including exciting domestic TV series and films. We see that the Latvian film industry has a number of professionals with unusual and creative ideas, so I am confident that the new season of "Uninvited Guests" will surprise everyone."
The storyline opens with a murder at a company's film-themed party. The body of a young woman, Emilia Brock, who was the daughter of the powerful owner of the company, Andras Brock, is found. Small-town investigators Richard and Oscar face a new investigative challenge as the case takes twists and turns that shock even the most experienced investigators.
The casting process took several months, with the right actor for each character. The main roles will be played by the audience's favourite characters Andris Daugaviņš as Investigator Richard and Niklāvs Kurpnieks as Investigator Oscar. Among the actors who will play the main roles are Signe Dancīte, Uldis Ulmanis, Mārtiņš Kalita, Kristīne Belicka, Ieva Aleksandrova Eklone, Gerda Embure, Andrejs Alens and many others.
The shooting of the multi-series detective film will take place mostly in Kandava and its surroundings and will last until 15 September this year. The second season of "Uninvited Guests" will be available to viewers in early 2024 and, like the first season, will be broadcast on the entertainment platform Tet TV+.
