Disneyland in Hiiumayu: a unique park in Estonia with its own Eiffel Tower

When was the last time you left home and went somewhere interesting? Do you know your neighbourhood well at all? These are questions that are clearly answered by photographer Regina Marcenkienė, who has been actively working on her project Baltic Photo Stories for more than two years, travelling around the Baltic States and telling people about different places.

As Regina told Delfi Travel Guide, her project is a collection of public places that are accessible to the public and interesting to people. In this case, language does not even matter, because the content she creates allows visitors to get to know Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia through photographic moments.

One of these sights is an interesting park on the Estonian island of Hiiumae. The park was designed by the Estonian Jan Allikso.

The park's most impressive landmark is, of course, the 31-metre-high Eiffel Tower lookalike, which Jan built back in 2007. It is said to be dedicated to his love.

According to Regina, there are interesting information boards on each floor of the tower, but only Estonian speakers will understand them.

Alongside the facts, there is also a safety reminder - one of them says that only four people can be on the platform at the top of the tower at a time.

The climb itself is quite spectacular, so everyone should assess their own strength before going up. Regina also reminds us that strong winds, which are quite frequent here, can also shake the crane a little and make the experience even more magnificent.

Of course, this is by no means the only interesting building in the area. It's not the only marvellous building in the area, says Regina.

There are colourful wooden buildings, as well as one of the most interesting attractions in the park - a tunnel and a maze to keep children and adults entertained.

Among the newest attractions is an exhibition of historical household objects, as well as a car built in 2019, the author of the photo project said.

The price of admission to the open-air museum depends on the visitor, as everyone is invited to share a symbolic amount of money.
